Since 1987, Co-Opportunity has had the privilege of working with low-income individuals and families in the Hartford area to help them become financially stable. Unfortunately, due to a lack of a sustainable business model, our Board of Directors has had to make the difficult but necessary decision to close Co-Opportunity. This was purely a financial decision and does not detract from the many talented and dedicated people who have provided services to Co-Opportunity’s client base over the years, but after exploring many options the Board has decided that closing the agency is the only viable solution.
It is important to us that our clients understand that many of the services we have provided – including the Voluntary Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, Individual Development Accounts (IDA), Housing Counseling and the Burr School Financial Stability Program – will continue to exist at other area organizations. For information on these programs, as well as additional organizations which offer other programs to people in need, please click on the links tab above.
We have been honored to serve you for the past 25 years, and we wish you nothing but the best.
